"Bridge on the River Kwai" classic film

With epic wartime storytelling at its most vibrant and satisfying, “The Bridge on the River Kwai,” starring William Holden, Alec Guinness and Sessue Hayakawa, screens at the Soper Reese Theatre in Lakeport on Tuesday, July 26, at 1:00 and 6:00 pm. Made in 1957 and directed by David Lean, the story pits the Japanese commander of a WWII camp in Burma against his prisoner, a British colonel, who has been ordered to build a bridge for transport of Japanese munitions.
